The journey began with a naturopath and an impressive variety of intestinal bacteria. In the late 1990s, the alternative practitioner Albert Hesse from the Sauerland was looking for a high-quality probiotic with a wide variety of bacterial strains to help his patients.
When he couldn’t find what he was looking for on the market, he decided to develop his own multi-species preparation: Pro EM san. This product, a natural fermented extract of herbs and plants, contains 31 carefully selected lactic acid bacterial cultures. With this pioneering recipe, Albert Hesse founded the company TISSO in 1999.
Nowadays, TISSO specializes in the development and manufacture of high-quality natural nutritional supplements. The range currently comprises around 40 different formulations, which are produced on site in Wenden and sold worldwide.

Can the capsule products from Tisso be opened in order to be able to take the contents directly?
Yes, at least most (!) of the capsule products from Tisso can be opened without hesitation.
In order to avoid oxidation or interactions of the ingredients due to prolonged standing, the capsule contents should be taken immediately after opening. Still water, unsweetened herbal teas or foods such as muesli, yogurt or applesauce are best suited for stirring in (no hot drinks or food).
Exceptions of capsule products that should NOT be opened:
The main ingredients are not acid-stable and are therefore located in gastric juice-resistant capsules. If taken directly, they would lose their effect.
The ingredients are primarily intended to benefit the intestinal mucous membranes and are also located in gastric juice-resistant capsules.
Exception to the exception:
If the gastric mucous membranes are to be treated specifically, Tisso Naturprodukte recommends taking the powder without a capsule.
The protein-splitting enzymes (proteases) contained do not naturally occur in the oral area and should only become active in their physiological gastrointestinal environment.
Caution may be required when handling, as curcumin and liquid astaxanthin stain strongly.
